Stop going for what is viral. Stop trying to figure out, “Ah, how do I make something so viral?” Stop trying to stick laughing babies, a guy falling on a BMX bike, and some cats in a video. That’s a big problem because it’s contrived. And it’s not going to work, right? The whole power about viral video is that you have something that people love and they want to pass on.
Yes, getting onto Oprah’s show is the hottest ticket in books – but that’s because of Oprah, not television. When she likes a book, she pushes it, and she has a huge audience of readers who value her opinion. Other than that, though, television’s dead as far as book-selling goes. New media is where it’s at: you can sell more books on Twitter than if you are on the fourth hour of the Today show. Period.
Now, before you go and try to make a marketing video for YouTube, you need to know a few things. See, popular videos aren’t completely random works made in one night (well, at least this is certainly not the norm). Most great YouTube videos demand thought and preparation, some of which I provide for you below.
In addition you should post and share your video on social networks such as: YouTube, My Space, Linkedin, HI5 and every social network you have friends or customers.
This is not the first comic book movie that had participated in such a viral campaign, prior to the release of Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel”, a static infested berita terkini broadcast on all TV channels of Earth, as well as in all languages, brought on the presence of Superman’s main adversary General Zod. That campaign also got audiences ready for Snyder’s release. There had even been mock spoofs of the “Your are not alone!” video as well that really brought on the hype of the film.
Write an outline of what you want to include in your video. Start off your video by introducing yourself or your business. Next relate to the viewer in some way or another (perhaps you both have shared a similar work experience?). Now, identify a problem the viewer has and share the solution (your product or service). Finally, give the viewer a specific call to action, like going to your website and signing up for your email list!
It’s not that hard to make a video and upload it online and it doesn’t have to be hard for a video to go viral within your niche. Don’t try to create a viral video attempting to get everyone on the internet to view it and share it. Your can’t appeal to everyone. Just create it for your niche or target audience. Create good content, make it short and keep it simple and you’ll increase your chances of getting more people to view your video.
